Amendment to UAGA Section 21

Colleagues:

The Standby Committee for the Uniform Anatomical Gift Act has recommended an amendment to Section 21 of the Act. Acting under Section 4.3 (3) of the NCCUSL Constitution, the Executive Committee approved the amendment by e-mail ballot, with 9 votes in favor, none opposed, and two members not voting. Attached is a copy of the amendment.

By this letter, I am reporting to all Commissioners the action of the Executive Committee in approving the amendment. Under Section 4.3 (3), the amendment will be deemed approved by the Conference unless, within 30 days after submission of this report, a Commissioner files with the President an objection to the amendment. If such an objection is filed, the amendment remains in abeyance unless it is approved or modified by the Conference at the next annual meeting on a special order not later than the third day of the meeting.

Since this message is being distributed on April 4, 2007, the deadline for filing with the President any objection to the amendment is May 4, 2007.

Best regards,

John

John A. Sebert
Executive Director
NCCUSL
